How to Celebrate Singapore Sushi Day: Eating Hainanese Chikin Sushi

We, at JPassport, are happy to announce that we are launching Singapore Sushi Day! The special day is on 8th August. We believe that the number eight “8” is a special number for Chinese culture.

Eight is considered as the luckiest number that brings fortune, prosper and wealth. Multiple of eights are even better, as we can see many shops used number 88 as part of their name. In Chinese culture, 88 means double happiness!

In that sense, 8th August or the 8th day of the 8th month should be a special day. JPassport, the ultimate platform for Japanese retailers in Singapore, collaborates with Tsukiji Sushi Takewaka to legitimate 8th August as Singapore Sushi Day.

Previously, JPassport asked our users about which Singapore local foods that might be good to be a sushi. From Bak Kwa, Nasi Lemak, to Laksa came across as tempting choices. However, Hainanese Chicken Rice won as the most favourite dish.

Tsukiji Sushi Takewaka, a restaurant which offer sushi as their specialty decided to actualise our users request. There will be a special menu at Tsukiji Sushi Takewaka during this national sushi day. The sushi restaurant will serve Hainanese Chikin Sushi at only $8.

So, everyone in Singapore can celebrate Singapore Sushi Day by trying the one and only Hainanese Chikin Sushi at Tsukiji Sushi Takewaka.
